The American Dream

What happened to the dream that all men and women have when coming to America? Was it taken and thrown away by those that live here? Or was there ever a dream at all?
Whenever you think of America, you think of the land of the free, but are we truly free?  There are many reasons to want to live in America: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms. But there’s racism, pushed religion, financial problems since jobs started leaving for other countries for cheaper labor forces, and many other reasons not to come. That might be why so many people are leaving, it could be better elsewhere. But in the end its all race related somehow, someone always gets blamed for racism.
When you come to America, you will be judged no matter how much you try to please the American people they will find something to discriminate or find something wrong with you.
The great Abraham Lincoln once said , “ Difference between black and white’s will always and forever forbid the two race’s from living together on terms of social and political equality “ .
So why do we consider ourselves equal? Even when a man who fought for the overall freedom of the nation consider ourselves not equal and believes we never will?
Maybe it’s just the color of our skin, some people get scared of the unknown. When they do they put up protective barriers to keep them in there comfort zone. That is probably why the older generation believes not in inter-racial marriage.
The Environment plays a big role in race relations, if you grow up in the suburbs then got to the ghetto/hood. It’s going be a lot different. It will make you put up guard rails even though they could be the nicest people you ever meet. We judge by appearance over character every day, punks are considered gothic, black and white guys with their boxers hanging out are going to steal your wallet. It’s all stereotypical, so it doesn’t matter what color you are, you already have a stereotype even if you didn’t know you did. We always go to the absolute worst possible scenario, that’s why we have so many problems.
Up-Bringing is always a big figure too. If you’re taught to hate, you will hate it’s all you know. One person’s opinion can change yours it doesn’t take much, if you don’t know the person that their talking about you’ll believe them. Before you even make your own opinion , they have given you one .
Why do we choose not to change our human nature? Do we truly enjoy it? Is that why we still have war? Why don’t we understand that were all the same, we all have the same insides ……. You kinda need them to survive. Were truly not that different outside either , were just special in our own way .
Is there any point in changing , if we ourselves don’t consider us equal ? Or should we just keep being racist and hateful towards others who we do not even know . The world would be better of with no racism , there would be peace . But war never changes , someone will cause a commotion and spark an uproar  . So it will never stop until human emotion doesn’t exist. So when other people come from other countries come to America do we crush their dreams? Because when they come we treat them lower than dirt even though everyone needs a little help.  Why do we offer sympathy and sanctuary if we treat them like rabid dogs, with such hatred!
So in conclusion , is the dream real or a myth ? It is a choice whether it is a myth or not , if you choose to make the dream happen for them it will be real to them . If you show them love , kindness , hope the dream is true !

The hidden racism of young white Americans

BY Sean McElwee  March 24, 2015 at 1:40 PM EST
The hidden racism of young white Americans
This article tells of young white men in a sorority house making racist chants and after a video hit the internet about it, the sorority closed in early march . The article also tells of what young whites think of black people most there dumb or lazy . There are charts of the ratios in the link below .
 http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/americas-racism-problem-far-complicated-think/

Young White Americans are suspected to be the most racist of them all . Some are but why are we all in this stereotype ? I'm young and white , some of my good friends are not white . Most of them are black they never hear anything come out of my mouth that would be offensive .
So why does the older generation believe its the younger generation , when it is actually them . They are the ones that cause all the fuss , the younger generation have mixed relationships and get along fine for the most part . The older white people of the world still find themselves not to be equal to others . That is what causes racism , influencing the younger generation that probably what caused
these boys to act the way they did .

If we address the problem instead of hiding it , it might just get fixed ; or are we scared of what that world will look like if there was no racism ?
I wouldn't mind it being gone , a bunch of news channels might though . All we talk about it race , are we really truly that different ?

Mizzou Students and Faculty Take a Stand

On Aug. 26, 2015 , a group of 30 University of Missouri football players stood up to racism in their school . Many students had addressed the issue but nothing was getting through to the president of the college . So with the support of their coaches they told the president of the school they would not play again till they saw his regimentation on his desk .Late Monday morning, November 9, 2015, President Tim Wolfe, announced his resignation. Was it right to blackmail him to get a point across ?
I understand their frustration with racism its a huge deal , it always has been ; nothing was getting done about it no matter how many times it was brought up . So was it the presidents fault ?

Could he have done more than what he was doing , probably so . So was it right it right to make him quit , they could have said we will not play until you fix it or at least try too . They could have very well come to a compromise , very easily in fact they could have had a board meeting or a school wide meeting to discourage it . A rule preventing anyone of any race to bring down another by what he looks like could have worked . When you threaten there education that they have to pay for it might make a little more sense and a lot more effective !
My personal opinion is that it was right and wrong , they got there point across just in the wrong manner at the expense of another .
