On Aug. 26, 2015 , a group of 30 University of Missouri football players stood up to racism in their school . Many students had addressed the issue but nothing was getting through to the president of the college . So with the support of their coaches they told the president of the school they would not play again till they saw his regimentation on his desk .Late Monday morning, November 9, 2015, President Tim Wolfe, announced his resignation. Was it right to blackmail him to get a point across ?
I understand their frustration with racism its a huge deal , it always has been ; nothing was getting done about it no matter how many times it was brought up . So was it the presidents fault ?
Could he have done more than what he was doing , probably so . So was it right it right to make him quit , they could have said we will not play until you fix it or at least try too . They could have very well come to a compromise , very easily in fact they could have had a board meeting or a school wide meeting to discourage it . A rule preventing anyone of any race to bring down another by what he looks like could have worked . When you threaten there education that they have to pay for it might make a little more sense and a lot more effective !
My personal opinion is that it was right and wrong , they got there point across just in the wrong manner at the expense of another .
